I. What does Cloning do?
If you run recurring initiatives, such as an Annual Innovation Award, you don't need to rebuild your setup every time. Cloning creates a structural copy of your program. It is designed to save you time on configuration while providing a "blank slate" for new data.
What is Copied | What is NOT Copied |
Submission Forms | Individual Submissions |
Evaluation Rounds & Criteria | Applicant Data |
Program Page Design | Judge/Reviewer Assignments |
Program Settings | Historical Analytics |
II. How to Clone a Program
Access Your Platform: Navigate to your Workspace, select the Platform where the original program is, and click Manage.
Locate the Program: Find the program you wish to duplicate in your program list.
Clone: Click on the Options menu (⋮) on the program card and select Clone.
The system will create a new program with the status "Draft". By default, the system appends "Copy" to the title and slug.
III. Critical: Managing the URL (Slug Conflict)
Every program on Untap must have a unique URL slug (e.g., /innovation-challenge). You cannot reuse a slug if it is still attached to an old program, even if that program is Archived or Unpublished.
Scenario: Reusing a Specific URL
If you want your new program to use a URL currently held by a previous program (e.g., .../innovation-challenge), you must free up the slug from the old program first.
Step 1: Edit the OLD Program
Go to the Settings (About the Program) of the old/completed program.
Change the Slug: Rename the slug to something else (e.g., change
innovation-challengetoinnovation-challenge-2024orinnovation-challenge-archived).Click Save. The original URL is now free.
Step 2: Edit the NEW Program
Go to the Settings of your newly cloned draft.
Update the Slug: Enter the original slug (e.g.,
innovation-challenge).Click Save.
IV. Managing the Old Program
After cloning, decide how you want the previous program to appear to past users:
Option A: Maintain Access for Previous Participants (Recommended)
If you want past applicants or judges to still be able to access their past data, set the program visibility to "Invited Only". This hides it from the public but keeps it accessible to those who participated.
Option B: Close Completely
If the program is fully obsolete and no longer needs to be accessed by anyone, change the status back to Draft.
V. Post-Cloning Checklist
Before publishing your new program, ensure you update the following fields:
Title: Remove "Copy" from the Program Title.
Dates: Update the submission timeline and countdown timer.
Content: Review your Program Page text for any specific mentions of "last year" or old dates.
Launch: Change status from Draft to Published.
